Dr. Maricor Grio
Dr. Grio received her undergraduate and medical degree from University of Miami. She subsequently completed a residency in pediatrics at Orlando Health in 2004, a subspecialty in pediatric nephrology, and a Master’s degree in clinical research design and statistical analysis from the University in Michigan in 2007.
Dr. Grio developed a passion for clinical research during her fellowship training while caring for critically ill dialysis patients when she realized that there is great paucity of data in many aspects of medicine much needed to save lives. She wanted to be a part of the solution to globally improve patient care and committed to become highly trained and highly skilled in all aspects of clinical research.
In addition to her extensive experience, she completed a specialized training curriculum in clinical research as a recipient of a K30 NIH scholarship at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and while practicing as a full-time clinician, she’s been continually involved in multiple successful clinical trials since 2005. She's a published investigator and has served as an IRB board member, has founded successful de novo research sites, and served as medical director and principal investigator. Dr. Grio joined University Clinical Investigators in 2020.
